Nestldown offers: bat mitzvahs & bar mitzvahs, rehearsal dinners (when availability allows), family reunions, celebrations of life, fundraisers and holiday parties.

Note – We are sorry, but we do not host graduation parties, proms or fraternity / sorority gatherings or photos.

Booking a Tour

Tours for gatherings are arranged by email rather than through our online scheduler, which is set up for weddings. Email request@nestldown.com with your event type, approximate date and guest count, and we will follow up with tour times.

What your rental includes.

✓ A 4.5-hour rental, including all vendor set-up and clean-up time
✓ Day-of coordinator, one event set-up location, and access to 35 acres of gardens
✓ Tables and chairs, AV in the Barn, sound at the Koi Pond, Barn and Chapel
✓ Bocce, life-size chess and other non-net games
✓ Up to 3 additional hired vendors
✓ Up to 50 attendees (100 for a Celebration of Life)

A refundable security deposit and event insurance (roughly $110 from an approved vendor) are required in addition to the rental. There are no added taxes or service fees. Extra hours, staff, attendees, row boats, the train and net games are available as add-ons.

Before you inquire, please know that gathering events at Nestldown are 4.5-hour morning rentals, typically 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and that timing is the single most important thing to know before you reach out. If we are within 4 months of an event date and we have an afternoon or evening available, we would be glad to host the event in the later part of the day. You’ll simply confirm that you’ve reviewed this information below before submitting your inquiry.

We are so sorry for your loss, and we would be honored to help host a celebration of life for your loved one. Please take your time with the questions below, if anything is easier to talk through than to type, say so at the end and we will call you.

Was the person we are honoring in any way connected to Nestldown or the local community that we may know(Required)

We’re glad to host photography in the gardens — a photo or portrait session is booked as a full personal event rental, beginning at $3,000, the same as any other personal event.

What we don’t offer is a photography permit or a reduced-rate rental for session-only use. If a lower-cost permit is what you’re looking for, we won’t be the right fit. We highly recommend Filoli for Garden and Villa Montalvo for Redwoods, both of which sell photo permits.

A morning event may still be possible, but it will need to be confirmed based on the timing of the afternoon event. If a date has no color, both morning and afternoon availability may be available. However, afternoon events can only be confirmed if the date is within four (4) months. We’ll be happy to confirm availability for you.

About afternoons. Our gardens host weddings in the afternoons and evenings, which is why personal events run in the morning, Wednesday through Monday. Afternoon events are available on Wednesdays. Within 4 months of your date, if the day is still open, an afternoon event may be booked any day of the week.

In practice, Saturdays and Sundays are booked with weddings many months out, so if your date is firm and further away, the morning rental is almost always the option that exists.

Please note: personal events include up to 50 attendees and Celebrations of Life include up to 100. Above 100 we would need to talk through whether the event is still a fit, and additional attendees are $100 each to cover added staffing.

A note on vendors. Catering, DJ, band, rental companies and shuttles must be chosen from our approved vendors list, which we’re happy to send. Off-list vendors can be submitted to our team for approval.

A bring-your-own arrangement is possible for light bites, finger foods, beer and wine only. It carries an additional fee and a short agreement assigning the roles a caterer would normally cover.

Every event is quoted individually, so this is a starting point rather than a final figure. We do not offer photography permits or reduced-rate rentals for session-only use.

I understand that personal events begin at $3,000 and Celebrations of Life begin at $4,500, and that a refundable security deposit and event insurance are required in addition to the rental.
